Plain English, no legal wall. Every file on FreeSVGShop is free for personal projects and for small-batch commercial use — up to 500 finished physical items per design. No attribution required.
You can

- Use it at craft fairs, markets, Etsy, Shopify or your own shop.
- Skip the credit line — attribution is optional.
You cannot
- Resell, share or give away the digital file, edited or not.
- Upload files to another download site or marketplace.
- Sell the design as clipart, a bundle or a digital product.
- Claim the artwork as your own or trademark it.
- Use files for anything hateful, adult or illegal.
- Assume our license covers someone else's brand or character.
Personal use
Every file here is free for personal projects — shirts for your family, teacher gifts, party decor, school projects, cards, vinyl decals for your own car or tumbler. Download as many files as you like, use them as often as you like, and change them however you want. Nothing to sign, no account, no attribution.
Small business and commercial use
You may sell finished physical items made with our files, up to 500 items per design. That covers the vast majority of Etsy shops, craft-fair booths, local markets and school fundraisers. You do not need our permission and you do not need to credit FreeSVGShop on the listing or the product.
The 500 limit is per design, not per shop. If one file becomes a bestseller and you are heading past 500 units, email hello@freesvgshop.com with the design URL and we will grant an extended license — usually free, always quick.
"Finished physical item" means something you made: a printed shirt, an engraved sign, a decal applied to a tumbler. It does not mean the design on its own. Selling, sharing or giving away the SVG, DXF or PNG file itself is never allowed, in any form, including inside a paid bundle or membership.
Editing and combining designs
Change anything you like: resize it, recolor it, weld it to your own text, use one element from a larger design, combine two of our files into a new layout. The edited result is still covered by this license — editing does not create a file you can then sell or redistribute.
Trademarks are your responsibility
Our license covers our artwork and nothing else. It gives you no rights to any brand name, logo, character, team, movie quote or song lyric that belongs to someone else. If you combine one of our files with third-party branding and sell it, that risk sits with you. We keep a blocklist of trademarked terms and remove anything that slips through — see the DMCA page to report a file.
No warranty
Files are provided "as is". We test our designs, but we cannot guarantee a particular file will cut cleanly on every machine, blade, mat and material combination. Always do a small test cut before committing to expensive vinyl or a bulk order. Full terms live on the terms of use page.
Changes to this license
If we update these terms, the update applies going forward. Files you already downloaded stay under the license that was in place when you downloaded them.
License FAQ
- Can I sell shirts I make with your free SVG files?
- Yes. You can sell up to 500 finished physical items per design — shirts, mugs, tumblers, signs, decals, ornaments and so on. You do not need to ask us first and you do not need to credit us. If you expect to go past 500 of one design, email hello@freesvgshop.com and we will sort out an extended license.
- Do I have to give credit or link back?
- No. Attribution is never required, for personal or commercial projects. If you want to tag FreeSVGShop when you share a finished project, we appreciate it, but it is entirely optional.
- Can I sell the SVG file itself, or a bundle of files?
- No. The digital file always stays with us. You may not resell, share, email, bundle or upload the SVG, DXF or PNG anywhere, including Etsy, Facebook groups, Google Drive links or other download sites. Only the finished physical item you make with it can be sold.
- Can I use these designs on print-on-demand sites?
- Yes, for print on demand of finished products (Printful, Printify, Merch on Demand and similar) within the same 500-item limit per design. You may not upload our files to a marketplace that resells digital downloads or design assets.
- Are the designs copyright free or public domain?
- No. The artwork stays copyrighted by FreeSVGShop or the original designer. It is free to download and use under this license, which is not the same as public domain. You cannot claim the artwork as your own or register it as a trademark.
- What about characters, teams and brand names?
- Our license only covers our own artwork. It gives you no rights to any brand, logo, character, sports team, song lyric or slogan owned by someone else. We work hard to keep trademarked material off the site, and if you spot something that slipped through, report it on our DMCA page.
